The discovery of correlated and topological phases in moiré materials, such as twisted bilayer graphene, has opened a new frontier in condensed matter physics, where electronic properties can be engineered by stacking atomically thin layers with a small twist or lattice mismatch. My research in this field has focused on the interplay between structural and electronic properties of moirés, and new probes of quantum geometry using Bloch oscillations. For example, I have developed analytical theories of structural relaxation that provide a general framework applicable to a wide class of moiré materials. Looking forward, I want to extend my recent work on correlated physics in novel moiré platforms with rich global flavor symmetries; develop new theoretical tools for moiré systems that enable the study of mesoscopic transport, disorder, and hybrid phases; as well as further strengthen my collaborations with experimental groups.

In this talk, I will begin with an introduction to moiré materials and explain why they are an exciting platform for studying the interplay between quantum geometry and strong correlations. I will then highlight some of my recent research accomplishments: (1) transport and spectroscopic signatures of geometric Bloch oscillations, (2) atomic relaxation in bilayer moirés and relaxed electronic moiré theories with examples in twisted graphene and transition-metal dichalcogenides, and (3) correlated phases and itinerant magnetism in K and M valley moirés. I will conclude with my research and teaching plans for the next few years, including concrete projects, resources, and synergies within NCKU and Taiwan.
