🎓 Graduation & Departure

💡 1. Mid-Term Graduation Application 

📌 Eligibility: Students who are not enrolled in any coursework during the current semester and are solely working on writing their thesis/dissertation.

  • Step 1: Download and fill out the application form 

    Please go to the Registrar's Division (Application Forms > Others > 25) to download the "Graduate Student Mid-Term Graduation Application Form," and complete the application process 1 week before your scheduled departure date.

  • Step 2: Collect your certificate and complete departure procedures 

    After the Registrar's Division completes the diploma preparation, please log in to the Graduating Student Departure Procedure Inquiry System to print your departure form and complete the departure process.

🎓 2. End-of-Term Graduation Departure Procedures 

🗓️ Processing Period: Procedures can be initiated starting from the week of final exams.

Thesis Upload & Authorization

Process according to NCKU Library Thesis Regulations.

⚠️ Thesis title, abstract, and keywords must all be provided in both Chinese and English.

Print Departure Form

Please log in to the Graduating Student Departure Procedure Inquiry System to print it out.

Complete Physics Dept Departure Form

Please complete online NCKU Physics Department Graduation Questionnaire.

Submit Hard-Copy Thesis to Dept Office

Submit 1 hard copy of thesis to the department office (see cover specifications below).

Submit Hard-Copy Thesis to Main Library

Submit 1 hard copy of thesis as required by the Main Library.

Collect Graduation Diploma

Bring your fully stamped departure form to the Registrar's Division to collect your diploma.

⚠️ Important Reminder

If you fail to collect your diploma and complete departure procedures within the specified timeframe, you will still be required to register and pay tuition fees for the following semester.

📘 Department of Physics Thesis Cover Format Specification

For theses submitted to the department office, please refer to National Cheng Kung University Thesis & Dissertation Format Guidelines:

  • Doctoral Dissertation:

    • Binding: Hardcover (Black cover with white lettering)

  • Master's Thesis:

    • Binding: Softcover with glossy film (Black lettering)

    • Cover Color: Orange-Yellow (Reference color codes: CMYK: C0, M40, Y80, K0 or RGB: R247, G181, B115)

📌 Final Checklist & Departure Deadlines 

The graduation departure deadline for the current semester is subject to the latest announcements from the Registrar's Division. When processing departure, please verify that you have completed the following 3 mandatory items:

  • NCKU Graduating Student Departure Form (System Download)

  • Physics Department Departure Form (Online Survey)

  • Hard-Copy Thesis Submission (1 copy to Dept Office, 1 copy to Library)
